Let's take today for example: I had a doctor's appointment this morning to make sure everything was healing properly from surgery. By the time I got back home, I was racing to get my son fed and off to school. Not long after, I received a phone call from the school. Apparently I had sent my son to school without any shoes on. Yep, you read that correctly...withOUT shoes. How I did not notice him with only socks on as he got onto the bus, I do not know. When I walked into the school, everyone in the office was laughing. His teacher put her arms around me and said "We have all had 'one of those days'". I tried to play along and pretend it had been "one of those days"...unfortunately, I have days like this way too often! My poor boy, I don't think he nor I will be forgetting his shoes ever again!

Just One Of Those Days
Years ago I was a young mother oblivious to the reality of motherhood. I remember walking through stores with my beautiful one year old girl and being appalled by what I saw. Mothers yelling at their innocent children, kids hair not done or wearing miss-matched socks, and threats of discipline made as an attempt to control their children. I would always quickly pass by and think "I will NEVER be like that with my children". Eight years and four kids later...I realize that motherhood is both wonderful and humbling!
